The beauty of mindful movement practice is that it can be done at any time, anywhere. It is the art of moving whilst being conscious of how it feels, what your body is doing, how your breathing affects your movement, how you could do it differently, how can you make it feel more playful ,easier, lighter, more fluid. The more this becomes a habit, the easier it becomes to transfer to your horsemanship. which in turn has a huge impact on how you offer and receive 'feel,'
Any movement class you go to can be simply a way of keeping fit or getting strong or you can choose to use it even more productively to improve your health, body awareness, to reset unhealthy postural habits, release stress held in your body etc. These workshops will share how you can use invaluable mindful movement theory in your daily life and regular movement classes.
These classes and workshops use various 'exercises' and useful concepts from mindful movement practices including Hanna Somatics, Feldenkrais, primal movement, Pilates, Ta Chi. Qi Qong, Trager and workshops with Chris Halliday. Included will be deeper body awareness, breathing techniques, movements to find and release tension and regular body scanning to increase body awareness and feel the changes the various movements make.
